About Us

Metropolitan Community Foundation

In 1997, the Metropolitan Community Foundation (MCF) was formed as an umbrella organization for the social justice and outreach ministries of the Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco (MCCSF). Today MCF provides a range of services for families and individuals, primarily in the Mission and Castro districts of San Francisco, who are chronically homeless or under-housed, low-income elderly, at-risk youth, and people living with HIV/AIDS. MCF focuses its efforts in the following areas:

  • Food, clothing, advocacy and other basic life support programs for the homeless and marginally housed in the Upper Market and Mission neighborhoods of San Francisco.
  • School enrichment programs in partnership with the San Francisco Unified School District.
  • International humanitarian aid, especially to children, in partnership with the Rainbow World Fund.
